FE Technical Forum / Re: 360? 4x4 freshen up in need of opinions

I am located in southern PA. I am thinking I am going to have to open up the bottom end cause the oil pressure hot is about 15psi. The previous owner beat on the truck pretty bad, used it for off road use only. I eventually want to completely redo the whole truck but for now I would like to get it on the road and reliable. My buddy sold me a Holley 650dp cheap, it just needs a rebuild. Since I will probably be in the bottom end it would be nice to get some more cubic inches out of the engine. Would it be worth working those heads or getting my hands on a better set of heads? I know they are getting hard to find and expensive for the decent factory ones.

a project of mine. I have a 68 f250 4x4 with what I believe to be a 360 someone swapped in before I got it. It has the 2bbl intake on it, I am going to figure out exactly what I am working with when I get the engine pulled. My goal is to have a reliable engine that makes decent power and sounds good. Nothing to radical yet being as it will be driven often to work. It has a 4 speed behind it and 4.11 gears. I had a Lunati Bracket Master 2 cam (.554/.554" lift, 230/230 duration at .050", 109 LSA, 105 ICL) in my old 69 f100 and it sounded great but I have heard some bad rumors about there stuff since. Any input is greatly appreciated.
