FE Technical Forum / Syncromesh Trans Fluid
« on: December 27, 2013, 12:07:08 PM »
I installed a Tremec Magnum 6-speed behind a warmed over 390 in my pickup, Woodstock.  It now has the 500 miles on it for break in and time for the fluid change.  The recommended fluid is either GM Syncromesh or Pennzoil Syncromesh.  From what I have read, they are the exact same except for price.  There is also a Castrol brand available and perhaps others.  Any recommendations from you guys?

No, his name is Mike.  He worked for Painless Performance here in Fort Worth before he got hooked up with some old girlfriend that happens to be an attorney now.  Good for him, bad for all his buddies down here.  Great guy.  Good hand with wiring and a wrench.

I understand.  I have a friend from Ft Worth that moved to New Brighton, near St Paul about a year ago.  He tells me you only have a couple of seasons up there, Winter and Road Construction  :)

Jay, I have talked to them every week since July.  One of the last conversations we had I told them I understood I owned an an engine that hadn't been produced in 40 years but they offered it and discredit. The guy, Josh Farley, told me that a guy named Jay Something ordered one too and both of ours were being shipped 2 day air.  I assumed it might be you.  Good luck!

After waiting since July, my QT Bell finally arrived Friday.  With any luck, I'll be shifting a 6-speed next weekend.
