Vendor Classifieds / Re: TRADE: C9AF-N carb for a C9AF-M carb
« on: May 27, 2014, 05:10:11 PM »
I just found my Marti Report for my car.  It was scheduled to be built on 11/9/68, but was behind schedule and wasn't built until 11/25/68; so from what I have read on forums and other places I will need an early November or mid/late October carb to stay in range on date codes.  If you have something and would like to trade; I am interested.....may also trade for any date if I cannot find the correct date.   ~ Thank you, Brian

I have attached some photos below.

Date is 951

Metering blocks are 5671 and 5673

Fuel line is reproduction from National Parts Depot.

I haven't had the carb apart.  Everything moves freely, but has been sitting for a long time.  It will need a rebuild.  I couldn't get a good close up photo of the date code, my camera will not take a clear shot up close.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you,
Brian

Hello,

I have been a long time reader of this forum.  I don't get involved in posting much, so I thought I would start today.

I have a 1969 Fairlane R-code, 4-speed fastback with a build date of November 9, 1968 that I am building.  I have a C9AF-N(automatic) carb that I would like to trade for a C9AF-M (4-speed) carb.  Please let me know what you have.  I would like a September or October of 1968 date if possible.

I will follow up tomorrow with pictures and more details (date code, metering block numbers....etc).  Let me know if you have any questions and I will look at the carb tonight and get back to you tomorrow.

Thank you,
Brian

Awesome!!  Good to hear!  That was so black and greasy it's amazing there was blue paint under all of that gunk.

I sent you an email with pictures and my contact information.

Any luck?

I have two extra intakes.  Date codes 9D15 and 9F2.   I hope this helps.  I would trade intake for intake if you would like.

The 9D15 sounds good.  Where are you located?  I'm in the area of Olympia WA.  Shipping would be very expensive.

I am in Salem, OR.  On February 16th, I plan on going to the Puyallup Swap Meet.  We can meet there if that works for you.

I have a handfull of 428CJ iron intakes at home.  I will check and see what dates I have and let you know.  My car was produced in November 1968, so I am looking for a September or October date as well.

Very impressive!  I really like the look of this car when it has all 4 tires under it.  Very very nice!  Ball park figures....what does it cost to have that frame built?
