FE Technical Forum / mystery block
« on: December 20, 2012, 11:30:23 PM »
so i have a block that i cant identify. it has a 4.134 bore no casting marks, and i can fit a 1/4 drill bit between jackets. this leads me to believe i have a .080 punched 390 that is not suited for 11 to 1 compression. its a four bolt motor mount has a 1u crank, c2ae-b rods trw l2245 std pistons. sonic checking is over an hour away at watson ruple performance, and my truck has no motor so i cant take it there. what should i do. does this sound like a problem?

« on: December 18, 2012, 10:15:32 PM »
i was wondering if there is an issue with using harlond sharp roller rockers on sealed power non roller rocker shafts, ill be using pop spacers, stands, and end supports. here is the cam from lunati. they said it would be a 562/574 with 1.76 rockers

sorry but can you be more detailed about this plz, this is my first build and im doing this by myself. will my machinist know what to do with hole drilling

Restrictors in the heads to restrict oil to the rockers.
For the Ed's I think a 5/16" rod with a .070" hole drilled will work. I'd have to go out to the shop to double check that though.
A set of late style rocker tins custom fitted "lol".

hello everybody. so i think im ready to order my last bit of parts today! so here's what i got 428 std bore trw2245 pistons, balanced bottom end. comp 280h magnum cam, stock edelbrock 60069 heads with 68cc chambers, Harland Sharp S4006BKE rocker assembly, edelbrock rpm intake, hooker comp ceramic headers, decked the block to 0 clearance, msd complete ignition kit, edelbrock 750, edelbrock fuel pump, .040 compressed edelbrock head gasket, might port match, dont know if it will be necessary. this will be in a 74 f250 with a 4 speed and 4.10 gears with 33's. this should be about 10.5.1 compression. so what do you guys think i have here should this be a noticeable difference from stock, about how much hp? anybody done something similar.
