No all welded together. Has hidden header caps.  many many  hours.  Each pipe is individual and can be removed separately.

FE Technical Forum / questions on sohc
« on: February 17, 2014, 03:59:50 PM »
Hi all starting on all the electrics and steering  assembly on the coupe  so have a few questions

1What are people using for the dust cover on the spark plug  . Have tried a 426 hemi don't fit way to large.

2 Is the small double row timing chain the same width as  a sohc  sprocket

3 Is the sohc crank spacer the same length as a normal fe  spacer

Just trying to get all the front of the engine set up before we make any brackets

Thanks

Paul

Hi
The shop is clean as you go.
Hilborn injector set up with 2 7/16 bores. the exhaust out headers are 2 1/4  . As for the covers just plain cast at the moment , unsure what to do with them as I don't want to make the front end  over powered in shiny parts. They are Pond  covers.. Cheers for the flat head just throw in a pair of Ardun heads  :D
Thanks Paul

FE Technical Forum / 427 sohc cubic size
« on: September 14, 2013, 02:20:00 PM »
Well coupe is moving along , All brakes pumped up, steering almost done. Headers are next with many many mock ups done. So now not to far away from starting bottom end.

So with that this is what I have  alloy Pond block and heads , with a hilborn  fast 2 injection system ,

What size to go in cubic size. I have no problem with 427 but what are the pros and cons of going to different bore and stroke size on these engines

Thanks Paul

Hi
Yes I am building  one as far as all the outer dimensions are concerned , as we have very little room so I need to know all external measurements to see how the engine sit in the rails,  Have so  far seen we may have to change steering box. Barry R  is going to do the final  build for me.
