Keep your parts. go with a 294s comp cam (one up from the 282). flat tappet solid. keep your heads w/ the valves. bowl cleanup wouldn't hurt. this will yield you 500 horsepower. all day. tad more compression wouldn't hurt either. don't waste money on a complete shortblock. keep it all, spend $ in the valvetrain

If possible, find a thick mirror 105 block or FT block. Punch it out to a 428, buy the 4.375 stroker crank. Then you'll be around 470 cubes instead of 445... no replacement for cubes!

FE Technical Forum / 1967 Rear Adjustable Shocks HELP
« on: March 19, 2013, 11:06:35 AM »
Buying rear adjustable shocks for my '67 mustang. I have 6 cyl. springs and 90/10 Competition Engineering shocks up front. Stock leaf springs, shelby 'tractionmaster' bars.

I see summit sells Competition Engineering 3-Way adjustables for $48 a piece

Also looking at the Rancho 9-Way adjustables from Calvert for $99 a piece.

Leaning towards the cheaper of the two, but if I can get more traction with the Rancho's, I will bite the bullet.

For those of you with these shocks, what settings have worked best for you? I know Jay has messed around with his Mach 1 suspension. Thanks!!!!

sounds like you have the Fitzgeralds.the last one's we used came in at .033 compressed, that would put you at around .068 piston to head. they say .020 but we got different results. I don't think quench matters that much on a 9 to 1 motor ?? jack

FE Technical Forum / Pistons?

Are the 4.255 tunnelport pistons an off the shelf item? If so who makes them?

I am in search of this piston with the same bore x stroke. Hoping I don't have to have them made!

Thanks
