as title says. Lower rad mounts for a 68-70 mustang cougar wanted

or superdragpak-65f100 at yahoo dot com

I'd only heard rumors about it, but I got my first sale under eBay's new Global program. My auctions under ebays section state: "Shipping:

Will ship to United States."  but that is now useless to all sellers. I had offered Free-Shipping

Seller ships to:
Erlanger KY 41025
the buyer handles from there to in my case the UK.
Problems abound because the charges for shipping and destinations shown actually change before your eyes as you click to print the labels.  What usually takes five minutes to get a shipping label took me over two hours after contacting ebay (Philippines ahh-so support). IE would not print had to use Firefox. Even to the point of I selected my usual carrier FedEx/saw price of shipping but when it printed it turned into USPS showing a three times greater cost which I presume is the buyers shipping cost. God only knows how ebay handles duties/tarrifs etc.. eBay has assured me my account would be billed the lower shipping figure.
Blasted ebay is the 6000# gorilla of sales. I doubt I could have sold the item elsewhere for such silly money but obviously they did not keep it simple and there was not format to step through.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271641092175

6,000,000,000 lb gorilla more like it!

My intake adapter sold for 1500.00 but it ended up costing me 20% of that price in fee's etc

Listing fee
Selling fee
paypal fee
shipping fee

Total fee's were a whopping  $303.07 !!

It was nice to get the price and still better than other methods but WOW the cost involved in making a sale.

It simply would not let me list unless I offered out of country buyers.
In the end it went to another country but did not say where.

This is the wheel I would like to use.

New 4 post.

Taking a break from the 427 truck for a bit and taking some time to get cab mounted on chassis for the EcoBoost Project

I started this project back in 2008, at this point hoping to make more progress soon.

Yeah, Its the black crossmember I left in for support as the floor is 1/2 the thickness of original. It touches slightly keeping the box too close to the cab.

For cooling I am using a desert cooler radiator from a mid to late 460 powered F150. I had to fab up some brackets to get it in proper position.

I was able to get in touch with a cooling system engineer (because of what it was going in- thanks SEMA) with help in proper location of fan to shroud and distance from radiator. I gave the engineer the dimensions of what I had and he came up with proper part numbers of what would work. It all fits in there nicely. Lets hope it gives proper cooling! He gave me a few pointers on best distances from rad etc. A quick and easy learning curve. When the distance of fan from radiator is wrong it messes everything up.
(using a thermal type fan clutch)

Very very nice!

Are you going to coat them?

Could have sworn I answered this question . . . Gettin' Old!

Yes, I do plan on having them coated. I put them in place and was going to build the exhaust system, bought all the components to do that. But, because I did extensive work on the box replacing the box floor with a new one from a F250 Super Duty I decided to drop the box in place for a test fit and also to make sure when I put the exhaust system in it would properly clear the exhaust.

I pre-fit the box only to realize one of the crossmembers was slightly in the way causing box to not go in place . . . At this point I realized age was kicking in something fierce and crawling under the truck taking a measurement crawling back out to make a cut then by the time I got to chop saw I forgot the measurement, only to crawl back under and realizing I left the tape measure on the bench! I crawl out the tape measure is not on bench. Phone rings and I forget what I was doing. Repeat this a million times a day and I got tired of crawling under truck and back out again. By then the brain and body is fried. Stop and repeat for days with nothing done!

SO, its time to re-think this method. In my past two shops I had hoists in them for doing this type work. This shop the ceiling was too low so the hoist was put outside.

It seems its either too hot, too cold, raining and how do I get the truck outside to hoist when it does not run. Then push it back in if I have to leave etc.

Time for a hoist to fit inside even if I have to sit on a chair and weld~fit.

Find a hoist I am interested in a local vendor comes over and said this one will work but  its not very heavy duty so lets step it up a notch. Decide on a 9000lb 4 post guy says sure that will fit no problem. We look up length and width. Cool looks like it fits. Look up the numbers for how high it will go, take a few measurements of my '66 trucks to see if in the air with cab about on ceiling I can sit on a chair underneath to work on it. Looks ok!

I order hoist. It shows up and we start to remove it from packaging. All looks good . . UNTIL I stand up one of the posts, look at the door and think it looks too tall.

I know the door is right at 96" and the hoist is 96.5" and that does not include the upper plate and the nut and adjuster cable that sticks up. It also does not include the extra height need for the casters!

Told the guy take it back the only reason I bought it was to be able to push it in and out of shop.

Sorry, No returns!

What do I do chop up the door frame which I had recently done with a engineered beam etc. Fresh stucco on the shop

I put the posts in the chop saw, cut off 5" and now how about the cables that need to be 5" shorter.

Call the hoist guy who delivered it and was going to do assembly he says sure we can get another set of cables for 600.00 to your door!

No way no how will I give 600.00 for cables when it was supposed to fit in the first place.

At this time I was a bit miffed . .

Started to call cable rigging places to see if they would be able to help.

Found a cable place down town phoenix. They said sure come on down will do it while you wait.

Of course a worker takes first cable and without thinking does not allow for the swedge lock on end of cable. Its now 1.5" too short!

Shop foreman gets involved grabs a new length of cable from roll and a new end and tells the guy to fix it!

At this time I am thinking of the 600.00 from another place for set of cables.

I go into office and ask what is final amount and its 3.11 each plus tax. Total to fix the 600.00 cable issue is 13.48 !!

Take cables home and cut up everything else that needs shortening and it all fits perfect, the hoist will now fit in shop!

There, Drama for the week!  All that and I have not gotten to the headers and exhaust again.

Of course getting the hoist in the first place had me selling off stuff (like the intake adapter, LOL) My '66 Fire Truck and a bit more. (also enough $$ so I could order wheels for the 427 Truck)

Box floor job nearly done. Of course just as I had laid out plastic to catch some of the fresh glass beads I was using for blasting edges etc a hoist hose blew and sprayed oil everywhere. Long hose another 200.00 down the tubes.

When I sold my 3x2 the buyer never communicated at all.
Just paid the money and said nothing.
Shipped it to him and asked him to tell if it got there Ok.
Nothin'.
I guess some folks don't like to talk.

And on the Ebay deal.
Yeah they surprised me.
Had my charges tallied up when I did the add so I thought I knew what it would cost then afterwards billed me for 10% of the sale.

so far nearly 24hrs later no payment no contact.

1500.00 was high bid.

A person in the FE community who is not answering messages thru ebay, by email or by phone.

That does not mean they will not pay but one would think in the amount of time given so far they would respond.

they were very late in the game to bid so am sure they were watching auction.
It will really mess things up if a non pay.

Do not remember the time line given to pay but usually what I put is no more than 3 days.
I simply do not see a time line at this point within the listing.

Never had luck with 2nd chance offers

Update:

So far simply no response from high bidder. If a non paying person it will really mess things up. So much for the excitement.

Lets hope it is not a member of this forum or the "other" forum.

Person does buy a lot of FE parts and FE related stuff.

No beware of yet will give them more time but is in the area north of LA and west of LV

Uhhhh
Don't look now.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181595591117?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

When you said Uhhhh don't look now I almost did not dare look. Had vision of someone cancelling bids . .

Are these people crazy?  Good for me tho  LOL

Current bid:US $1,115.00
[ 26 bids ]

Just think if Jay got 600.00 more each for each of the 100 manifolds . . Thats a good chunk of change.

I think I will buy stock in FePower LLC  (or did I already?)

What really surprises me as they are just bidding. No questions

Current views and number of watchers  Views  1488       Watchers 146

That's a all time record for me in Watchers

I looked early this morning and it was still at 900.00

At least 4 people want it . . .

This should help on the 4 post hoist I ordered that for sure would fit in my garage door. Well the hoist showed up today and upon assembly I noticed the hoist was 1/2" shy of fitting in my garage door and that was without casters . . .

A BIG chunk of coin as they will not take it back even tho the sales person said no problem . .

Maybe I should add a pic of the new timing cover?

Currently 121 people that are "watching" the auction

Noooooo, not yet on the timing cover LOL!  I'm not ready!

121 watchers is amazing  :o

Just kidding! Lol

127 watchers now

No plans on making any further changes to listing.

Maybe I should wait until the end of the auction and contact the second highest bidder and offer to sell mine for $50 less than high bid ;D ;D
I'm KIDDING of course.

The auction really doesn't surprise me much. Like all things, it's the low production number that makes them more valuable, but I'll admit I'm a bit surprised it went as high as it has.
Sorry you're having to sell all your stuff. I really wish I would have known about that F600.

Here is the listing for the F600.  The truck is still here but have been paid.

I am already kicking myself for letting it go. No way in a zillion years can I replace it for that much $$

If you are interested in doing a ramp truck I have a line on another low miler. A lot less $$

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-Low-Mile-1966-F600-Yes-only-5792-Documented-Original-Miles-/181589575765?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=0TqO2PRP3CupeBHibacsW9gETvM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I have a feeling the current high bidder on adapter will not bid any more, possible the 2nd high bidder will go for more at end.
I just hope knowone starts pulling bids to mess it all up.

There are 3 or 4 bidders OVER 750.00

If nothing else this gives Jay a bit more exposure . .

Maybe I should add a pic of the new timing cover?

Currently 121 people that are "watching" the auction

Yeah, I've actually delivered only 80-something of them.  I wasn't suggesting the auction was not truthful, just that further explanation could have been done.  Or not  ;D

I guess my wording was not done so well. All I remembered was a 100 number.

I guess this was in back of my mind when I typed the listing.

"I've been getting pricing for the required pattern tooling, and casting quotes for the manifolds themselves, and have everything I need to get going on this.  When I got started I was hoping to be able to sell the manifolds for $295, but with the pricing I've been getting it will need to be $395 for me to be able to build 100 of these things and break even with all the tooling costs and so forth.  I don't know if the market will pay this or not; after all, after spending $395 on the manifold base you would still have to spend another $350-$500 for a 351C intake to go on top.  You can buy an FE Victor for around $550, which would end up being a lot cheaper.  I don't want to do this if I can't sell at least 100 manifolds.

So what do you guys think?"
:-[ :-[

I thought the original run was supposed to be 100 manifolds.

I offered it for basically what I had into it. I was "not" trying to profit from it at all.
Never expected the response. I advertised a all original low mile plymouth superbird and did not have this many watchers.

Again, I have not been paid yet . . A few minutes ago I had my first question from anyone bidding.

2nd highest bidder is a local  guy who has pricing on his stuff through the roof!
