I like it!!  I like it!!  Cool looking build, hope to see more on it as it developes.  I only chose to use one, a ProCharger F2 but two supercharges sure do look cool packed in the engine bay.

Nice looking Ole Gal you have there.  Like the wheels as well.  Good luck on your stroker build, that should put a little fire in her.

Stopped by the chassis shop yesterday to see how things were going, and when he thought he would be ready for the Falcon.  Still out about a month, he is working on a 66-67 Fairlane that has evolved into a bigger project than expected.  It should be a cool ride when done.  Roll cage, ladder bars, M2 front end, big ole meats on back and a 540+ BBF making it all go.

The Fairlane taking longer than originally planned has been a blessing in a way.  It has given me time to round up parts for the build.  You would think that a project that is in its 20th year would be well planned.  :). Well my budget 20 years ago was a lot less than today.  Plus after going to the FE reunion last spring it really lit the fire to get this thing back on the track.  So things will be rolling on this build soon and I hope to have it at the 2015 3rd Annual FE reunion at Beaver Springs Dragway.  It might only be making its first shakedown passes.

More to come as we go along.

The lenco wasn't my first choice, but needed a manual tranny that will handle 1200 hp in a 3600+ lb. car and be street driven too.  I really like the clutch less Liberty equalizer, but it can't be driven on the street.  So I ended up going with the Lenco as it seemed to fit the bill well.
I would really like to rum Drag week one year, not that I would have a chance winning.  Just would love to try it once.

Well a 20 year old project that has been sitting 17+ years is now starting to head in the right direction.  It's a project LONG past due, derailed by self employment, marriage, child and divorce.  Now it is finally time to get back to work on this neglected project.

My plans for this '68 Falcon consist of having some updates done to the chassis and to be certified to 8.50's.  FE powered of course, force fed with a ProCharger F2 w/EFI. Blair Patrick will be performing his magic on this engine build.  Gear selection will be performed by a Lenco ST1200 5 speed.

I have started collect parts for this build and talking to a few people that are going to help me meet my goals.  I also have a lot to learn as this build is far above any other builds. I have done in the past.  Should be an exciting journey.  I will post updates as the project progresses.

Here is a few of the parts I have gathered so far:

From one Idiot to all the other Idiots my love for the FE started with my first pickup.  I liked the 390 so much more than the next 2 trucks with 302's.  Then  I got a chance to hear a few at the drag strip and fell in love with there sound.  It's been an addiction that there is no cure for ever since.

I don't even want to think what  a 460 based motor would do with what I'm getting ready to spend on my new FE build.  It's a full on IDIOT of a build with a Shelby block based centrifugal supercharged, EFI monstrosity with the help of Blair.  More to come on that later.

I do have a few cars that need a few of these so called old school builds.  Also have a 428scj that's an older rebuild with stock type parts that I need to find a car to put it in someday. Get it out of my bedroom.  :)

Looks great, gotta love the rotisserie.  It's definitely one of those tools I wonder why I didn't buy one sooner.  Money well spent.

Now I just need to find the time to work on mine, would like to get my 68 Falcon off the rotisserie soon.

Now if I would get off this here interweb and get into the shop I might get something done.  LOL

My Labor Day will be spent working on the 68.  Need to find some parts and get car ready for chassis shop.

Keep up the good work!

I originally was thinking of turbos, but everyone keeps telling me that turbos make it much more difficult to run index or brackets.  Then I went back to looking into N/A, but that little demon in my head keeps telling me I want forced induction.  So my thinking is that a supercharger would be more consistent than turbo due to the fact that the spooling of a supercharger is directly related to crank (RPM) speed.

Am I thinking correctly here?  I have been in love with forced induction since I bought my '87 Turbo coupe.  Have dreamed of doing a FE ever since.

Also planning on running a Liberty clutch less 5 speed, there again I'm reading where that brings issues of belt wear due to unloading of power on supercharger, but with the Liberty Extreme clutch less I wouldn't think there would be much unloading of power.  As they have a split slider setup?

Damn so much to wade thru, especially since I don't like to spend too much money twice... LOL!!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Jay,

Thanks for your time and the pics.  I am looking into the ProCharger as a few other people have recommended them also.  Haven't found anyone that list a kit for an FE.  How difficult was it to adapt the BBC to work with the FE?  I'm also looking into gear driven setups as well.

I am looking at going EFI instead of blow thru.  I have the Edelbrock Victor FE EFI intake and was thinking of using the Wilson throttle body elbow.  Then have to look at FAST EZ-EFI or other controllers.

So many decisions to make.... Makes me wonder why I want to get away from a good ole naturally aspirated with a tried and true Holley like carb.  LOL :-).  Guess its just one of those ideas I can't get out of my mind.  That and I like to think outside of the box, hence building the 68 Falcon.

FE Technical Forum / Centrifugal supercharger for the FE...

Now I'm taking a look into Centrifugal supercharger for my drag car.  Have seen guys using gear driven units.  Looking for someone that builds the gear driven mounts that would work on an FE.  I am going to contact the Supercharger Store and see if they make one.  Seems they are big on ProChargers stuff.  If anyone knows of any leads or places to contact it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to make around 1200hp with the supercharger. Plan on going EFI as well, need to start researching my stand alone choices there as well.

The interweb is a great thing to an extent, but it sure can make a person over think everything... LOL!!

I know your busy Jay and you had given me a few details on your supercharged setup on the mustang (that was back when I was contemplating going with a turbo setup) but if you get a chance could you refresh me on some of the details of your setup?

Thank you!

I think that'll save you a huge amount of pain.  Since I've had my lift, I've turned quite lazy.  Heck I even put a car on the lift to polish the wheels or wax the lower side.  And when I'm doing mechanical work I can't count the number of times that I raise and lower the car.  I even put my lawn mower up in the air to change oil and sharpen the blade. 8)

I hear you, I do all the same things, especially when cleaning and polishing my wheels.  Best money I have spent on my hobby.

I think that FE would do mighty well in my '68 Falcon.  The horse power is right about where I would like to see it with about 200 ft.lb. of torque than I had imagined.  I too wonder what it would take to reproduce this combo.

Great work Blair!
