FE Technical Forum / Re: 428 Cj project advise

Thanks for the reply. 10.2 ? Dished pistons i assume. How does the efi work out on these engine ? After looking at some comp cams it looks to me that you can run roller on lower compression ratio ? The 308R (solid roller) 10.5. The 306S (solid) 11.5. The 305H (hydraulic) 10.5 upp. Not shure yet to go with a roller. It will coat some extra money. The 98 octan is pretty expensive. I think it is 15-16 nok. And that will be each 0.9 gallone ( 1 liter ). Nice too see some numbers on other builds.

Hi guys.

I have finally desided to order parts for my 428 cj block. I am looking for som advise since this is my first "Performence" build. I hoping to get 500-700Hp out off it. Now, i am about to order a stroker kit. I was thinking about the scat 462 cid kit with cast crank and flat pistons. The car would be a street car, but i am not afraid that it will slide over to street/drag. I guess we are looking at 11.4-11.7 comp ratio if i go with heads that have 72 ore 76cc ? Maybe i should select dish pistons and get a lower ratio ? But from here, i am not shure what parts to go with. (Heads, intake and cam selection). Oh,inn norway, we have 98 pump gas =)

Regarding the pricelist. Since ponds both offers sohc and side oiler and the sohc block need some more prepp i was not shure that the price was the same for both. I guess it is ? Those blocks from bare block motors look pretty nice. have any one some experience with those block ?

Thanks, help a lot. I think i know what i would do with the heads and intake now. I will come back to you later when i know the compression ratio, maybe we can talk some more about camshafts.

After some search on the intake. The medium riser intake "Looks" a lot like the edelbrock performer intake, but the edel performer intake is hi riser ?

Helps a lot. I am new on the fe so i gotta ask. what does the medium riser intake means ? Do you have an hi riser intake as well ? As for the head i was thinking of get another set off heads, i want to keep the original heads if i one they change my mind and it will be bone stock again. Are those 427 heads hard to come by ? Also, i have searched the web for "352" engine parts, and very often it just says 390,427 and not 352. Very confusing.

Hello.

I have now decided that i want to keep my 352 in my car and upgrade it to get a more (aggressive sound). Need advise from you guys of what to do with cam heads intake and etc. The last owner rebuilded the engine. Everything stock, bored 0.30 polished crank grinded rods. The 65 galaxie is in future gonna be painted white with 28 fred lorenzen. My goal is to make the 352 look like a modified engine from the sixties and sound closely to a nascar since its gonna be a 28 fred lorenzen. And the people are gonna scratch their heads when they see the galaxie roll upp with BIG 352 C.I.D letters on the hood :)

Thanks for the idea about tire size. I probably go for radials because the bias tire is get to expensive for me, but i do not need 275 tire, maybe a 235 all around.
