Yep, and the bolts are always pretty large- once you got the first one in, you were ready for a break. When I was a kid I used to put those 100lb "suitcase" Weights on the front rack of the Farmalls, and it was much easier than putting on the rack itself

Well, it does look like a tractor weight, except I have never seen one with attaching bolt holes that small

Maybe the 351M/400 deal?

No matter what, 44ft lbs with an intake/headers/carb swap is pretty nice.  Totally doable by just about anyone with minimal funding.

Ross, you think that stink is bad?  You should smell the ultrasonic water from my last carb (the burnt one).  man.... I dunno if a shower will get rid of this.
Once a bilge rat,...

There is also off the shelf stuff like headers and such for derby cars, I answered an ad for a 390 a while back and got there just after thy hacked up the CHERRY '62 500XL, including hacking slots in the perfect hood for the derby zoomies. The guy ran a 360 Mopar, and that was the fourth car the engine had been in. There were a bunch of clean 62-64 Galaxies and Bulletbirds that got parted out and then off to the derbies by that kid in Woodland, CA

Went out and looked at my Funk, and it is indeed gravity feed with a blockoff plate on the block. Been around tractors all my life, gramps had an IH dealership and we had 706Ds, 8Ns, TO20s, JD 420, combines, many others, all were gravity feed

Hi Chris, the parts you need, I only have enough of for my tractor. I believe the hood is the standard one, length is made up with the adapter which you have. I do have a couple loaders, but way too far away, pretty sure you could find one locally, might have to lengthen the lower frame some to fit

The big advantage is never having to pick up the iron one again. Worth a couple franklins to me.

Boy howdy- last week I was looking thru the triple stacks of intakes on the shelf, Streetmasters, SDs, RPMs and such, and at the bottom of one stack, this blue thing- and realized it was an iron CJ manifold, on a shelf over 4' up- HITF did I get that 88 lb beast up there? Then remembered- 'Lil Forker. Has a 4-cylinder Continental that is about 14" long in it, is 34" wide so you can drive it through a 36" door, and lifts 1000 lbs to 7 ft. To get a relative size, the box on the forks is one I built to ship a short-tail toploader, and that's a little walk-behind rototiller next to it. If I need to move it in the shop, I don't even have to start it, I can push it around by hand. Best $500 I ever spent

I will say this.....that Driven oil smells like poop water.

Some friends used to have a Texaco station in the late 70's- man, that Havoline oil was foul...

Or just puddling oil on the lifters

314
Yep, I have a .760 and a .785 that I wouldn't even consider used the Doves on- just have this 454 that's a center oiler that hasn't had the lifter galleries drilled so it could use T&Ds

Probably has something to do with #2 and #4 doing most of the work, and the #3 thrust being more difficult to install. Probably plenty strong with #2 and #4 in this case
