For somebody that is partially red-green-blue color blind, that color difference from the booth to the garage sure is striking!  Does it have some transitional color once its outside?  In one shot you could see on the rear spoiler the more 'orange' vs the red.

Kevin,
Slight post detour - In the image shown, what years would those have come on, originally?

Likewise, if anybody wants to give up their stuff, I'm also 36, and I plan to be around for a while.  I will say the cost scares a bunch of people away. Personal example: I need to get a new transmission console for the Cyclone (which shares with the Fairlane).  Never re-popped, and they go for ~1k.  1k for a piece of molded 1960's plastic.  I haven't ran into anyone who doesn't think I'm crazy paying that price.

Jay and everybody,
Thanks for hosting, supporting, and sharing, and the occasional slap up side the head.  Merry Christmas and Happy new year to all!

Thanks Heo,

He's going to hang onto the originals. They ended up not being a split rim, but that trim ring is what holds that bead in. Split rims I always though were a bit different.

He did talk with Stockton Wheel and is going that route. They'd also cut out and re-weld the centers to another size if he wanted. But for now, he's going to most likely go up to a size 16" wheel in the same pattern.

Howdy all,

A buddy has an old trailer and it has 15" split rims, 5x8" bolt pattern, 3/4" lug. He wants to dump the split rims but he's having a heck of a time finding anything with that lug spacing. My thought is to find some used wheels but I dont know where to look. Any suggestions? He's located in the Sacramento Area.

Did anything factory come with that lug spacing?

Thanks in advance

Allllllllriiight!  Those rockers sure look good!  I meant to ask if the oiling passageways that you drilled gave you much trouble given the L/D?

KY works well too.  You basically need a couplant to give the soundwave a path to travel through.

Kevin,
Thanks for this!  This is sure a heck of a lot cheaper than the $1,000 units I was looking at earlier.  Looks like Santa came early for me!

Howdy!
Can anybody recommend  good shop for UT inspection of bores?  I have my 390 and its been punched 0.060" already.  It was running well before I took it apart and I'm about ready to buy a Prison Break kit for it, but before I do, I want to make sure I dont have any thin spots.

I'm in the Sacramento Area but I'm willing to drive the block to the Bay if need be.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Agreed.  Confidential markings on documents can get the poster into deep shizer.  And it gives the lawyers something to prosecute against.

If it is anywhere a recent build, its probably silver solder or tin without lead.  Crank up the heat, since the modern solder has a higher melt temperature than the lead-based formulations.  I just hope its not a multi-layered board for your sake, otherwise you're fighting a loosing battle.

Cool!  With so many indy car fans, I'll be sure to post some pictures from the Monterey Historics week after next.
