My new P.A. 36400 not as good as the one i bought seven years ago. Different supplier/design/whatever ?  Quality went to hell. What are you guys using ? I,m leaning towards the ATI 915722.

I have use an old school torque strap[turn buckel] on my 67 FE Fairlane, stock type chassis. Today i drilled a 3/8" hole through the motor mount and frame adapter to sandwhich the rubber.  Iv,e seen plates from the front off the head or water pump to the unit body frame , nice to free up some room when doing header on/off. I may try that next.

Great idea with the vacume for testing. Heres something i do to my VS carbs.
Most  VS Holleys use a diaphram with a 2.054 "  long rod, number 135-4.
I use a diaphram with a 1.97 " long rod, number 135-3 , was available on some carbs and readily available. Seems to help pull the sec open more.
I get a lot off  Holley parts from Allstate carb on line.

Usually either yellow, no balls. 750 QF from Barry had no balls and medium spring.
On my old vs 600,s #1850, one thing that helped wake up the 600,s was changing to  1 11 /16 base throttle plates from 750 vs. You must clearance the main body so the plates do not stick, i used a valve grinding stone. A 650 DP comes this way, just copied  the mod to the plate.
Make sure the small feed passage from the venturies  is cleaned with carb cleaner  and blown out so you get a good signal from the venturies.
Hope this helps, Bob

Told the dyno guy to stop at about 6k as I usually shift at 6k-6.3k .
Almost identical readings with the air filter on/off, I run the Blue Thunder 2 1/4 " 2x4 oval when racing

Good question. We were at Union Grove and besides lots of nice cars I noticed the trailer/tool/supply thing.  The slower less exotic cars not so much, but the faster on the edge cars like Jays had a fairly common kit, basically three pounds of stuff in a two pound can. Several,  plastic stackable flat tool boxes,  couple small jack stands, small aluminum jack, battery impact, some had Honda 2000i generators, some the small 3 gal compressor, rolls off towels/handiwipes, personal travel bag, lots off soft nylon storage bags, 12v compressor, small spare parts,  after these guys park and unload, get the cars ready, it looks like several garages exploded in the pits. Just a basic observation, some had more, some less. A few hours and several runs later, they pack up, jam everything in the trailer/car drive off, the pits are again empty. Very cool.
