IMHO the block is worth 2k +. shortblock good to go 3k. that is a valuable date code. it will not go down in value.

FE Technical Forum / Re: CJ Valves in D2 Heads

there is a guy on ebay who sells remanufactured FE heads. he specializes in them and has done lots. he operates out of his personal shop and is semi-retired. the prices he charges is more than reasonable and i can't get it done locally for what he prices these for. i won't put his phone number up on the forum but if you contact me I'll give you his contact information.

sort out your wiring problem before changing the distributor. if this is a recurring problem something is wrong with your wiring.

i have some new +.030 cast pstons that i will never use. $100 plus shipping. just me but i would not use any used pistons when the cost of cast pistons is that cheap.

does not matter. common truck headers ie headmans etc are designed to fit c6aer c8aeh d2teaa heads. not c8oen c1aea c4aeg etc. stick with the c6aer.

« on: August 19, 2017, 08:17:25 AM »
good heads complete. could be bolted on and ran after cleaning .  $1000.  good standard bore irrigation block "428" in freeze plug hole. this block may remain std. has no ring ridge of any kind. i also have a pair of cast iron long 427 headers. excellent condition. no cracks, flaws, marks or any kind. crisp mold lines and casting nubers. no pitting. with a lite surfacing on the head mating surface and collector  they would be perfect. the studs are still in the exhaust collectors and are not worn. they are date code matching to these heads. 1 is dated 1-29-63 the other 3-12-63. $1500. pictures on request. tomatoes atsunflowerdotcom. thanks.
