If it’s that bad you will have to be lucky if just installing the parts while the bracket is in the car works. I’m afraid you will just buy a little time before the assembly has to come out. It sounds like the holes are hogged out bad. There was a guy I met at the FCA Nats this year who restores the assembly and sells it complete with pedals for $350?

Whose kit is it?
the kit is a Scott Drake 64-70pedal support bushing kit

It can be done with it in the car... unless the soft metal bushings are worn oval then you need to take it apart to fix them.
? thats what the repair kit consists of,2 brass bushings,2 snap rings and 2 thin plastic bushings

my bushings in my comets clutch pedal are shot.the pedal goes more sideways than down when you push it to the floor.i bought a rebuild kit.the question is,do i need to take the whole bracket and all out to fix it,or can i change the bushings where its at without taking the whole assembly out?

I would change the crank pulley, first since it slows everything down and is most cost effective.
i was hoping to get by with just one pulley, but i wanted to make sure and get the right one.my crank pulley is 6.0 and the one i looked at was 5.4. im not worried about the wipers,i dont drive it in the rain anyway.

the guy who bought it off us in 83 is a mechanic at the dodge dealership in town.he swears nothing is wrong with it.oil was full and clean when i found it,and he said it didnt use any.rad was full of green af.it starts right up and idles,no smoke,no noises, all lights, heater, radio, wipers+washers, still full of blue liquid. its been took care of,just been sitting under some trees for a few years. i gave 500 for it,spent 300 fixing it up over a 3 month period.i hope to get some tires put on in a month or two.i absolutely stole it. i wouldnt take 20 x that for it.its that nice inside and out.but right now my wife is bedridden and i dont have the time or the funds to tear into it.its all original and never been molested.i dont plan on going nowhere in it.hope its ok till i decide what to do.

YEE HAA,i fired it up this morning and almost no oil pressure,i slapped a new sending unit on it and cleaned the connection with a qtip and fired it back up and i looked down at the gauge after pausing a few seconds and the needle was 2/3 the way over, highest its ever been.that goes to show you if your pressure is reading low on the stock gauge of a 60s-70s car truck it may just be the sending unit instead of well you know.

i didn,t mean big chunks, more like grains, very small and only a few, maybe 10 or 15,but a couple of them were as big as the hole in the sending unit, about half the size of a bb.im going to try another sending unit.motor sounds good no noises

can the sending unit go bad partially, or do they go bad at all or all at once.the oil i drained out had a lot of chunks in it where it had gummed up from setting over the years.could the hole in the sending unit have some junk stopping it up causing a low reading
