i know i'm in the uk but this may interest someone enough to ship it to the us.
i'm after £13,000 (uk sterling) so around $18,000.
just thought i'd offer it to you guys too.
thanks, neil.

FE Technical Forum / vacuum or mechanical distributor?
« on: November 28, 2015, 04:57:31 PM »
hello again everyone, hope you're all ok? i'm about ready to order the new dizzy and coil for my anglia and wondered what your thoughts were regarding vacuum or machanical only distributors. the car is a drag car only and when i build the stroker engine that will have more cam and the dizzy will go into that also. i'm leaning toward the mechanical only advance but would appreciate any input.
ps these are what i'm choosing from:- mechanical http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/pnx-d7133800/overview/make/ford and vacuum http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/pnx-d7133700/overview/make/ford
thanks in advance, neil  :).

FE Technical Forum / one last thing, disributor choice?
« on: October 03, 2015, 03:21:52 PM »
oh, one last thing. i mentioned changing to electronic ignition and i'm leaning towards a pertronix ignitor III distributor http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/pnx-d7133800/overview/make/ford and matching coil http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/pnx-45001/overview/. they seem good 'bang for the buck' what with not needing a seperate ignition box but still having multi spark and adjustable rev limiter. has anyone used them and what are your thoughts? thanks and sorry for all the questions, neil.

hi everyone, i thought i ought to let you see what we do with fe motors here in england. this is my altered wheelbase gasser my friend scott and i have built. it has a mild (for now) 390, c6 and a 9" out back. the front is a straight tube. we built the full chassis and cage along with all of the suspension/steering parts. there is a full build here http://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/forum/garage/105e-estate-awb-gasser-64485. here's a pic of the car as it is now

FE Technical Forum / carb jetting
« on: October 02, 2015, 05:51:44 PM »
hi it's me again from england, this time i'm after some advice on ballpark jetting for my 390 motor. build details are 30 over flat top pistons, thumper cam http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/cca-cl33-600-5 with matched valve springs, ported stock heads, port matched streetmaster inlet, 1 3/4" fenderwell headers, 2" super sucker carb spacer, mallory dual point and coil and either 750 or 850 double pumper carb. the c6 gearbox has been rebuilt with street strip shift kit and 3000 stall 10" convertor. 9" axle with 4.11 gears and spool. 31" mt et drags. nearly forgot the car is an english ford anglia wagon 1964, built as an altered wheelbase gasser, here's a pic

my question/s are which carb (750 or 850?) and would anyone be able to suggest ballpark jet numbers before i take it to a rolling road (dyno). i ought to say i'll be changing the dizzy for an electronic one (this http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/pnx-d7133800/overview/make/ford) with matching coil before the rolling road day if you think that makes a difference to my carb choice/jetting.
thanks again in advance for your help, neil.

FE Technical Forum / 8 sleeves
« on: September 28, 2015, 04:22:42 PM »
hi,
i'm looking into having my spare 390 block bored to take oversize (4.25" bore) sleeves. i would then fill the water jackets with hard block to the freeze plug holes to stabilise the sleeves. it's for a drag car so cooling isn't too much of an issue. has anyone done this before and was it successful?
thanks, neil.
