Jay, I've never been happy with older slicks. On the car I sponsored we changed them every 2yrs. If you test with the current set this weekend and it doesn't work out, then you have another added problem. Better to eliminate that now rather than later. You can always use the old set another time when it isn't as important as Drag Week. Just my opinion. You know better then anyone what goes into prepping for Drag Week, eliminate anything you can now so you don't have to deal with it on the road!  Good luck Jay, you deserve it. Bob & Nahla

Nelson Hoyos has a streamliner based of the Speed Demon Bonneville car that is steam powered. I haven't spoke with him in a while so no info on how the project is going. Check it out at Team Steam USA.com.

Jay, Having a son and two daughters I always remembered this; When you have a son, you have to worry about 1 penis, with a daughter you have to worry about ALL the penises! I kept my girls in 3 pair of long overalls and my 12ga. close at hand. Met all the potential Beau's at the door in full police uniform! We use them on our turbo'ed truck and tractor pull diesel engines.  At over 200psi boost we've seen over 5 gallons used per pull. They work great!

Jay, If memory serves correctly the largest gain was a BB Chevy with an off shore pump we could hardly turn by hand before removal.  The least was a SB Ford that had a NAPA pump. Bob

Jay, Regarding an earlier post here, I've found (depending on the belt type pump used) a 7 to 24HP gain with an electric pump. I'll dig the data out and send it to you as soon as we complete that huge engine order I told you about. Bob
