I've also bought a Cammer gasket set from a well known supplier.  They are quick to get your money on the same day of the order, but give absolutely no indication of when you are going to get the product. There is nothing on the website to indicate if the item is out of stock.
Sent emails and received no reply.
Not happy at all.

Do you have the carbs on the right way? Ford fitted them backwards so that the front one clears the distributor.

I believe that the later engines are a straightforward swap into the early Galaxies using existing mounts, but involves more work if swapping early engines into later Galaxies.
Maybe someone who has done it can confirm.

Yes it's a 351. The 400 has a vertical ridge just to the right of the distributor.

I think another option would have to be the green tinted windows all round.

It's an interesting story if indeed this LTD did belong to the famous Frank O King.  :)

The bottom hose has to have the wire in it or otherwise it can collapse and not let coolant through it.

BBM are saying...... "That brings the Tunnel Wedge intake project back to the forefront, and we anticipate the Tunnel Wedge intakes being ready for delivery also in late Spring 2016."

How does it work with the pushrods and offset rockers?
Do they line up perfectly, and is there enough clearance in the pushrod tubes?

Very nice car. I think some nice old style sign writing would really set it off.   ;)

« on: October 10, 2015, 06:16:38 AM »
We had a look at a couple of '63 390 badges which ToddK has, and we believe they are original.
They seem to be made the exact same way that bottom emblem is made on the very first pic, where the numbers can be seen from the back. It is also the exact same size, whereas the other two in that pic are a little smaller.
But the difference now is that these two 390 emblems are a very light aluminum, where the reproduction 427 emblems are a heavier alloy of some sort.

From reading and looking, I think I can assume that Ford may have had different manufacturers for these emblems, thus different emblems.  :)
Did any of them have some sort of part number or casting number inside the back?

I'd like to see a couple of pictures of an original emblem please.   :)

FE Technical Forum / '63/'64 427 badges

Just a simple question out of curiosity.

I have 3 different reproduction badges.
The bottom one in both photos are new, and the upper two used ones were acquired from a friend.
Looking at them, they are all different. They even are slightly different is size.

The fronts show slight differences in detail, especially with the thicker "427" in the lower one.
The rear of them reveals the biggest differences.

So which one is more correct to be like the original factory badges?

Dan.
