Title: Large Ford parts sale in Minnesota
Post by: thatdarncat on September 27, 2020, 02:31:18 PM
There will be a large Ford parts sale in Roseville Minnesota starting next weekend Oct 3rd-Oct 6th. The majority of the parts are from the estate of our local Ford friend Kurt Gartner, but also includes parts & cars belonging to Ron C. who is hosting the sale. The vast majority of Kurts parts were for FE’s, but there is some good 429-460 stuff there, and a bit of Small Block Ford, etc. Also some general performance parts & engine builder tools. If you go to the Twin Cities Auctions website there is a link to the parts list. Be advised parts are still being added to the inventory list, so keep checking back. They will also email you a copy if you want. I’m helping tag parts, if you have any questions here I can try my best to answer them, or check with Twin Cities Auctions. Just to be clear, this is a “garage sale”, not an auction, the intention is for everything to be priced by sale time. Thanks.

Is pricing going to be listed on the parts list at some point, baking with table numbers?  What sort of pricing is being assigned? Falling prices as the days go by?

Will the parts listing be updated as things are sold? Hourly, daily??

I posted about this on the Classic Cougar Community forum. Similar to the above question, I am wondering how to buy smaller items like tools etc....and have sent a note to the auction house.

That question would probably be best answered by Ron Christenson at Twin Cities Auctions. Here’s his email:

rpcfomoco@yahoo.com

I believe at this time that yes the list will have prices by sale time, and the goal is to get all of Kurt’s stuff sold in a timely manner, whatever that takes. Kurt had a LOT of stuff, they’re still trying to get it all identified and priced. It’s been a huge project.

The vast majority of the parts have been inventoried & tagged now, a few more to do Thursday. Every part is cataloged to a specific table, and today they photographed all the tables. I’ve been told the intention is to have all the table pictures on the website by sometime later in the day Thursday, and hopefully the pricing will be up by Thursday night too. So check the website site later Thursday. If there’s a specific item you want to see closer get the inventory number off the list and let me know, and I’ll try to post the picture here if time. Thanks.

Looks like a lot of work put into getting the sale ready.

Thanks

Swung through today. Some of it is gold plating prices but there are deals to be had. Got a set of 70's stepside pickup tailights for 15 bucks new in box. The re pops are 80 bucks a side. Also got a police 428 4100 carb for 60 bucks.

How did the tables look Sunday? Lot of empty spots? Were sales made at "list" price, or negotiable?

Are the SVO 460 blocks still there? Tried to get two of my truck pulling friends that need blocks to go get them but sounds like it didn’t happen. If they are still available I’d like more info on them... new/used/repaired/bore size etc... thanks

Both SVO A460 blocks are still there. There’s been lots of interest, mostly over the phone, but no one has made a deal yet. The one block appears new, but it’s been sitting. I’m not an expert on A460 blocks, but that one has provisions for extra head bolts. The other block is used, and has been repaired/welded extensively in the oil filter area. Unfortunately we don’t know the history of it, any info passed with Kurt. It should be checked thoroughly, but I’d guess someone wouldn’t have repaired it if there wasn’t hope it was useable, but just a guess. That block also has been machined for roller cam bearings ( they’re still in it ). The open door sales days are over, but the parts that are left can be checked out by appointment still.

Block that appears new:

The auction house contacted me earlier in the week about having a blowout sale. I put together a list and offer for a variety of FE parts. Hoping I can pick up some good items.
