Title: rocker arm shaft
Post by: djburton on September 02, 2020, 08:28:14 AM
I was checking and cleaning up the rocker assy and noticed the shafts were of the 2 hole variety, Which side of the motor does the hole with the slot go,in or out? Thanks!

Should have a set of holes pointing straight down and a set of holes on the intake manifold side of the shaft.

I'm confused. The holes are either up or down, or both. I've never seen a shaft with holes on the sides. The slot needs to go down because that's where the pressure from the rocker arm is exerted, so that the slot feeds oil across the area of most pressure from the rocker arm.

Some shafts have two sets of holes.   They have an additional set to help oil when the rocker arm is at valve-open position.
