Title: 482 TF heads, solid lifter cam, for My 58 custom 300.
Post by: FEDER on May 26, 2020, 08:21:16 PM
Just got it back. A VERY BIG thank You to Brent Lykins. He recommended the molnar rods, racetech pistons and speced  out the cam for Me. Every time I ordered parts they came within a week. And every time I called He answered. I live in WA State so that’s pretty damn good to get stuff that soon.so here’s the sheet 672 HP 572 TQ   HP at 6700 TQ at 5500. It won’t let me post the sheet wrong format.

Would take a bit of cam to get that hp peak, 265* or so?

What is the static compression ratio of your engine?

I'm on Camano Island. Have you had your 58 to one of the Twin City Idlers shows? I recall seeing one a few years back.

I is sad that we had to cancel it this year. It really brings a lot of cool cars to town.

from the 2018 pre-show cruise.
Not mine; but this was so much fun to watch until it got out of hand.

Just curious what is a safe horsepower for a stock block. Obviously S/Stockers have like 8 or 900 but are those stock blocks.

Is that cam a solid flat, or a solid roller?

It's a solid flat tappet.

Pretty impressive performance for 'out of the box' heads, & what seems to me to be a relatively small flat tappet cam for a 482 inch engine.  Like someone asked above, is there a more detailed build thread on this engine posted somewhere?

That's a whole lot of power for such a small cam.  Nice.
