Met a fellow here tonight that said he had a 67 Full sized Ford HT that he gutted to 3500#.
He said a 427 center oiler built buy Stroppe out of a flat bottom boat and ran a LR single 4 setup.
Claimed it did a 12.70 at about 106 MPH in the 1/4 mile. Do these numbers add up? 4.30 gears and a 4 spd.
He sold it overseas about 10 years ago sent me some pictures I'll post tomorrow.

Well,with some sorting,I'd expect better.
My 64 Galaxie @3970# went 13.0 something @107 with a 390 and a 4.70 rear gear.

That says he's only making about 320-330hp (observed, not corrected).
400hp @ 3500# is usually a 12-flat car, 112-113mph.

My Fairlane used to run 12.52 at 108 mph in good weather and 12.78 at 107 in hot and humid weather with my old 390 so yes it’s in the ball park

It could indicate a near perfect launch with fantastic traction in a not very high powered car.

Concur. The 302 makes about 300HP in good air, Falcon runs 8.1x in same air. 3250 lbs race weight, 4000 stall, 4.56 gear - that's about 12.70 or so.
