Title: Stepsons new Fairlane
Post by: Heo on May 19, 2018, 01:31:06 PM
I got a call from my stepson he had bought a -66 Fairlane he was
down south and had a look At. So he had bought it and was on his
way home. 900 miles still to drive, 289 c4 so now we must hunt for a FE :D
It had a bad rearwheel bearing so he put in a new one before he left
And had stopped and checked the ign, timing was 5 deg after tdc ::)
and leaking brakebooster so set the timing and plugged the hose to
the booster so now it runs like a champ

Nice car!

Hey, did you know there is a huge shadow man in that pic? He looks pretty scary!  ::)

He said it was decent, haggled down the price
a lot. Looks in the pic like it need some new sheetmetal
aft of  rearwheel housing. Supposed to be a XL but got
Mustang bucket seats so i don't know, XL doorpanels,
XL emblems on the rearfenders and trunk so lets See
when he gets home.
I just talked to him he was freezing,he could not find
where to close the cowlwents and right rear window don't
go all the way up :D and the heater is bypassed and 600+ miles to go
and getting night and colder
Time for the next generation to try when its uphill both ways ;D

Its the slenderman or some other shady figure :D

Down south and it's that cold?  ??? We are having warm weather in Canada.
The Mustang seats would look all wrong in a Fairlane. There are other non Fairlane buckets that look proper if he can't find any.

He has been down to around the 59Th parallel that is about the same parallel as Churchill Manitoba Canada.
I get it, that's not down south for the most of you ::)
We live at 65,50 almost arctic circle a so still cold nights 10-12 degrees Celsius.
And the highway follows the sea that's still cold so....And as a typical youngster
probably just jeans and a t-shirt ::) and no rubberseal around the steering
column, Rear side window stuck 2inches down so a nice cool breeze the whole trip ;D

TomP
Any examples of seats that fit the fairlane better the Mustang buckets
just look wrong
The seats need to have square backs like original
