Awesome Brent! It's great to see what the old parts will do. That's very respectable.
-
That is a clean piece of iron. No magic vat can replace hours of blasring and scrubbing. What exhaust did you use?
-
Actually, the block and heads got baked and steel abrated. No scrubbing required. :)
I used our normal FE dyno headers.

My employers were too cheap or short sighted. Our dip was not heated or aggitated and for the most part we cleanded the split aluminum cases by hand. When I worked in automotive I didn't get back any engines from the machine shop accounts that clean either. It would take me another couple of hours to get it like I wanted. Good work.

Brent,
It's been a while but do U recall if these medium riser heads were Big-F or Little-f ?
-
Hey Werby, I was hoping Brent would respond as I wanted to know as well. But, after looking closely at the casting # and date code placement in the last picture I believe these are the small f heads. From what little I understand the big F head had a different layout of the casting # and date code as per the other forum. Here's a pic and the link to the thread.
