Hey Everyone, I learned a bit about Scott Miller's 68 Cougar today and wanted to share the coolness. Somehow he is running 9.1 @ 143 on 9" tires with Caltracs then driving about 200 miles each day. It boggles the mind. I hear he has a 502ci FE with Edelbrock Pro Port heads, Swartz tunnel ram, QF 850 carbs all done by our own Mr. Blair Patrick. Scott's not even using a transbrake. Checkout this wheelie from just flashing the C4 off idle. I am impressed...

Now that's a bad ass ride!!!

Bad to the bone! Maybe Scott or BP will spill us a few beans. I thought he ran a 'Glide with a Gearvendors last year?
-
That is very, very impressive. The Millers are good folks, congrats to them and I hope the next three days go as good as the past two.
-
Nice! Looks to be an all steel car. Its weight anyone?
-
3300 lbs.
-
Just ran 9.14@143 with a big ass wheelie!
-
3300 lbs.
Thanks Blair, that makes it even more impressive!
-
3300 pounds... is that with driver? Aluminum block maybe?
That is one bad engine in that Cougar, I am impressed for sure. Excellent ET... wow is right! Makes my Cougar look like a kitten.
Congrats to Scott and his dad and also Blair for Patrick power. I also think it is cool that that was the family "high school" car for Scott and his siblings.

My lord that thing is bad ass.

I am curious what sort of cam lets a 3300lb FE run low.low 9's and yet drive on the street so easily?

Its a baby roller Tom. .695 at the valve. I did some things to help it flow without having to lift it to .900. I use that cam in a bunch of Nostalgia type stuff......but if we could make a big boy live 1000 miles, there is quite a bit more in there. A good bit left in the vehicle also, but Jack did a great job setting the car up as it is.

Listen to Scott's burn out. Sure sounds good. Brian Lohnes could hardly contain himself.

I have to agree, Blair. There are WAY to few FE's here. As of right now, I'm only aware of 3 since Jack Miller is out. That is just sad.
