I saw him run the 9 flat @ 150. Did he run again today?
-
I watched 95% of the feed and only saw the 9.0. But I never saw the class leading Nova run. Did I miss it or is he out and thats why Jay only made the 1 shot?
-
Jay strolled it out early in the video of Day 2 RECAP @ 6:40 linked below
9.017 at 150.70
Freiberger commented big time on Jays Chevy Nova competition and hoped Jay would return for a shot at a low 8.90000.
Why the huge amount of black smoke on Jay's Launches?......
By the way guys:
It's cool to post the play-point of our FE favorites cars running (can't be done from the live stream but can from the RECAP)

Brad in the Nova ran an 8.6 in the late session. Jay's got to make up some ground if he wants to beat that guy this year.
-
Ouch: "Brad in the Nova ran an 8.6" I believe it was last year that Jay's competitor in the BBC Mustang broke on the last day effectively solving Jay's close competition .... Dropping the time down by 2/10ths from what the guy did yesterday is a hell of a cannon blast
-
It was the same guy/car that he was in the running with last year. He broke on thursday or friday. Thats one healthy Nova. Stepping it up to an 8.6 is going to be real hard to beat especially after a 9.0 today. Better clean all the change out from under the seats and lighten that thing up!! We know he's wrung all the power he can out of it. Maybe leaving at a higher rpm? I think he said he was leaving off idle. Its tough to swallow having a 1000hp on tap and not being enough. But he wins the coolness award by far in my book..

Lots of racing left. I'm not counting Jay out by any means. I think he left for 131 after just one run. Something tells me he's got a plan up his sleeve. ;)

I don't have the time to watch the live feed but did see from the 59 Chevy thru Jay's run. He seemed to falter at the start (my perspective).
So what engine does this Nova run? I don't know how to look up competitors.
BTW non FE but the Welding shop in Crescent City Ca. was at the Salt Flats this weekend and was looking to go well over 300MPH in a streamliner with Ford 460's.
Didn't see his result there. Redwood welding. The car is handmade buy the owner but custom designed by someone. Top expected design speed is 417 MPH.

Did Jay run before that Nova? Four tenths will really hurt the average unless the Nova gacks an orange lump again.
The Don Nuss streamliner is cool. Can't find any results for this weeks times.

RWS Streamliner Found out from a crew member (a close friend) The RWS had rear axle bearing issues and didn't hit 300. It also has a 4 wheel drive setup but the salt was soft and using the front drive it got squirrely over 150 MPH. They just used the rear drive and couldn't get to speed soon enough.

I saw Jay and Scott Miller on the Day2 recap, didn't see the rest of the guys. Is Joel still in?
-
Yup, Joel and the GTX are still in.
