Title: Paul Munro gear drive
Post by: Djr031987 on January 21, 2014, 04:00:26 PM
Hey does anyone know where you I can get one of the Paul Munro gear drive sets for my 427 SOHC. I just brought a new aluminium block from Shelby engines and I am trying to put it together.

I responded with Paul's email address in the 519 SOHC thread.

As far as I know Paul is out of the SOHC business.  I don't have a current email address for him.

Robert Pond now sells the SOHC timing gear sets with the 0.250" pitch chains.

You're working with the foundry that cast his parts, right? Will you be continuing his low riser double carb tunnel ram? That was one of the best looking intakes for the SOHC.

Actually I'm working with his machine shop.  They are continuing to make parts, in fact I should be getting one of his blower intakes in the next couple weeks.  Paul's 2X4 manifolds will still be available also.

Jay, since you plan a FE Power SOHC head have you considered being a supplier for the parts that are still available from the machine shop that still makes the Munro parts?

Yes, I am planning on doing that.  However, not all of Paul's parts are available from that shop, just the heads and the two intakes.  Supply is a little spotty at this point, but when it improves I'll probably put the parts up for sale in the Vendor Classifieds.

One is a blower intake, the other is a single plane 2X4 intake.
