Title: 5.4 Triton Intake manifold problem
Post by: bsprowl on July 26, 2022, 09:27:11 PM
My 2000 F-250 with 397,000 miles miles has a broken thermostat housing bolt.  I need to remove the aluminum crossover pipe that links the two heads at the front and includes the thermostat housing.

Looking at it I don't see how I can get to the bolt at the bottom left (passenger side) without removing the complete intake manifold (after first removing the coil packs and fuel injectors and lines), etc., etc.

Is there something I over looking?

Thanks

We need a pic or two to see what you're up against.

If I remember correctly you can only remove the crossover by pulling the entire intake manifold because the bolts come in from the bottom. After you get it off it's a great time to replace the spark plugs. They will never be easier to get to. Also I would replace any oily, deteriorating spark plug boots.
