I have always enjoyed watching this type of racing with older vehicles...even when the vehicles were not so old.
I am amazed, however, at how damaged the vehicles get even when the racing is relatively clean and trouble free.
I also wonder how many vehicles get destroyed during the learning curve as new racers gain experience. Lots of cars folded up and torn apart.

Well narrow gravel roads high speed, you just kiss a boulder that have been there since the ice age. It refuse to move so the sheetmetal
have to surender :D
Last winter i straightened a Volvo 940 that a fresh driver crashed during a race. Next weekend he crashed at the same spot,
And with his gained experience from the last race he had higher speed .So this time he mangled both quarterpanels at the same
spots but harder, bent the framerail more, and landed on the roof. It was totaled

I belive it is a Swedish built sequentinal 5 speed box. Pull back to shift up, push forward to
shift down
Thats about the only trick part on the car. Still the stock suspension designed during WWII.
Rear suspension is more or less like a 40s Buick,or like what they use in NASCAR.front suspension
is an ordinary 40s kingpin ifs. Better springs and shocks though. Required to run the stock block
so it is a B18, 109 cuinch
