Title: Thoughts/recommendations on lifters, lifter diameter, and bushings.
Post by: fekbmax on May 06, 2022, 11:48:55 PM
Pond aluminum block, solid roller race only.

Can a pond aluminum block safely be bored to accept a .903 ultra pro morel bushed lifter ?

Does morel make a .875 ultra pro bushed lifter ?

In eather case should the lifter bore in the aluminum block be bushed regardless ?

Yes, it can.

Yes, they do.

Depends on the camshaft, spring loads, etc.  A lot of times, a larger diameter lifter body will help with durability.

BTW, I've been using a lot of BAM solid roller stuff in addition to Morel.  Very high quality parts, all made in USA.  He has bushed (both bronze and steel) lifters as well.

Keith, been sending you emails.  Have you received them?

Morel can't do the custom lifter at this time, but if you can work with a .210" offset, then BAM will make lifters for me.

I suppose this is applicable to anyone that is planning on using Jay's heads with solid roller camshafts.

Brent,
I have been receiving my e mails as per normal,  just none from you lol. Not sure what's up with that but I check my e mails several times a day. I'll send you another e mail just incase something funky happened with the e mail address.
I think the Bam would be just fine, had been checking them out since you had mentioned them. I'll also call you on Monday so we can work out the particulars.  Thanks for the reply here.
Keith.

You may wanna check your junk mail folder.

I replied to yours from this morning.  If you didn’t get it, that may be what’s happening.
