John Norris and I met up with Blair in Ft Collins CO last weekend to pick up our motors and help load this little gem. It is Blair Patricks car that John Cooper painted. Personally I was afraid to touch it, it was that clean. One teaser picture for now.

I'm gonna have to find some time to work on it. I've owned that car for thirty years, and it has not looked that good for the last twenty five. The slick paint will be a motivator!! We had a great time meeting and hanging out with John and Ken. Ole Rob Dickey ain't a half bad guy either, lol. Thanks to all of you guys for the muscles helping load her in the trailer............John Cooper is a heck of a guy and a heck of a painter!

Looks nice, whats the plan for the engine and drivetrain?

Streetable 482 2X4, C-4, and a gear vendors. It was a four speed, but I don't want to have that many levers in the thing, plus I'd have to use a clutchless to make the hand controls work. I'll settle for the automatic and just remember the good ole days. I'll put the T-handle from my four speed back on the auto shifter!

Sounds good!
To be honest, maybe I am getting old, but I like a solid automatic nowadays. My Mustang is a TKO-600 and staying that way until it needs to come apart LOL, but when I jump in my diesel I sure like just letting it shift itself

A couple more pictures from the trip

Yes he does! That paint job was really nice! It made me nervous to put my hands on it.
I really had a great time meeting Blair, Rob and John Cooper. These guys are genuine class acts and it is was very rewarding to spend several hours with them. I was bummed that I couldn't spend more time with them. As I mentioned on FordFE, Blair's son Daniel is a fine young man. He impressed me.

John it was a bummer not having a full day to hang out. Meeting you and Ken definitely helped make the drive worth it. If you head out my way you are always welcome to visit. We'll put you guys up for a couple days so you don't have to drive all night, lol. I owe you lunch anyway. I agree Daniel is a fine young man. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

My first car was a 67 fastback; love the turn signal hood on those cars. With a 428 and C4 that will be a nice little streeter...

Wish I would have known you all were in town! It would have been great to talk FE's and see some of this stuff. I had my Galaxie up at Johns on Wednesday for a front end alignment and while the "45 minute tops" job turned into 3hrs (side-effect of too much fun at Bonneville) I did have a great time talking cars with his daughter in the waiting area.
