Buying rear adjustable shocks for my '67 mustang. I have 6 cyl. springs and 90/10 Competition Engineering shocks up front. Stock leaf springs, shelby 'tractionmaster' bars.
I see summit sells Competition Engineering 3-Way adjustables for $48 a piece
Also looking at the Rancho 9-Way adjustables from Calvert for $99 a piece.
Leaning towards the cheaper of the two, but if I can get more traction with the Rancho's, I will bite the bullet.
For those of you with these shocks, what settings have worked best for you? I know Jay has messed around with his Mach 1 suspension. Thanks!!!!

Better to just get the Calvert shocks from the start. That way you don't waste money buying the CE shocks first then buying the better ones later. Get the Calvert front shocks too.

+1 on the Calvert Rancho shocks; they have always worked well for me.

I have the Rancho 9 way shocks. I bought them on Calverts recomendation and have been very happy with them. I was using stock shocks before and in talking with John and showing him some pictures he pointed out I needed to control my body separation better. On launch with the CalTracs the body was lifting so fast it could pull the rear tires off the ground occasionally. I have seen this on other race cars too when observing behind them on the starting line, seeing light under the slicks briefly. Any setting between about 3 and 9 seems to do fine for my car without much detectable ET difference, just my experience. If you can swing the price I'd go for the Rancho's from the start.

My 67 mustang 460 car was fussy about rear shock settings. I ended up at 6, 60 fts were worse at 7, and it blew the tires away at 8.
Shock settings are going to be individual to your car only though.
One thing to know, my car sits with the tire just above the rear fenderwells with 275/60/15 tires and I had to exchange the 67 shocks for the 65/66 shocks which are shorter. The 67 shocks were too long.
