Would like these stampings deciphered on this block please. I’m assuming they might tell when this engine was assembled. Casting date on block is 9B6.

The assembly date - run test dates I’ve seen in that era of FE have been on the drivers side front ear, the one picture you don’t have. Just my guess, but I assume the others are possibly various inspection stamps, pretty common. I’ve never seen anyone with an exact explanation for each letter-number-symbol in that era, I’ve seen some documentation for the very early FE’s. Maybe someone else has something.

The drivers front ear actually had no marks. I had read somewhere also that it might be the most common location but is of no use on this block.

Take a good look around the front as well, down low outside the timing cover area. I've had a couple 427's stamped back by the rear main, but haven't seen a 428 that way.
