Title: scat 4.250 crank
Post by: Stangman on February 11, 2021, 03:53:00 PM
Just curious the scat cranks that we are using use Chevy bearings for the rods. Do they also use Chevy bearings for the mains. And when you get a new crank does it go in standard or are they cut .010 from the get go. Of course I wouldnt order anything till I take it apart but just wanted to ask ahead of time.  So the reason Im asking is I have about 1500 street miles and a ballpark 60 1/8 mile passes and about 50 1/4 miles passes. No over revving or anything but as you guys know when I went of the track although I didnt see any dirt in intake when I took off carbs some dust could have been sucked in and im sort of looking to nip it in the bud so to speak. Any opinions.

FE main bearings, 2.200 rod bearings.  Standard/standard.   Joe-JDC

JDC answered you.  I would probably cut open the oil filter, and maybe pull & inspect a couple rods and mains.  Might want to borescope the cylinders...
