I installed some new weatherstrip on the convertible today and ended up making a tool to straighten the area that it clips into. I did the hardtop about 15 years ago and I think I had the glass out at the time and straightened the area with pliers from below. Took my time with the tool and got the door as straight as possible and am very happy with the result.

Looking good! When I replaced mine, I had the glass out as well so no issues. However at the time I could see that little flange was kinda flimsy.
Btw what are you using for seats? They don't look like the stock buckets.
One last observation - your steering wheel is on the "wrong" side :D

That is a pretty handy tool you've made up there! Hot rodding at its finest...

.
Seats are Aussie ZC Fairlane (69-70). They were in it when I got it. A little bit too bulky but they look ok.

Just wondering why would.that area be bent? I have done a lot of weatherstrip and never ran into an issue like that.

that area gets bent when the originals aren't removed with care or the lower window stop is to low and lets the glass drop below the moulding/wstrip when all the way down and then hooks the moulding when it rolls up

Thanks for sharing. My window rubber is so bad it's starting to come off in chunks. I was hoping it would wait till I was ready for paint.

Mine is actually still good but will be replaced when I do paint.

Yep. Also gets bent when the channel the glass sits in rusts, swells and then catches.

I will have to be careful and warm it with a heat gun before removal.
