Title: What is everyone using for Sonic Tester conductor fluid
Post by: My427stang on December 22, 2020, 08:25:06 AM: Feels like a "blinker fluid" question LOL

I have been using white grease, actually Comp white assembly lube in the little plastic tub, and it works fine, but I was running low and cracked open the little bottle of clear fluid that came with my tester. Clear, squeeze bottle, a little thinner than the white grease I was using, and it was so much easier to control and then clean up after.

Anyone got a good brand / supplier that they like? I bought some a while ago, but it was runny which pushed me to the grease. I have two to do this weekend, and may try a different white grease from a tube, but wondering what others are buying

Amazon. Has pretty close consistency to the stuff that comes with the sonic testers.

LOL! Vaseline works pretty well. I mean, for the sonic tester... :o

Post by: frnkeore on December 23, 2020, 01:59:35 AM: I tried several thinner greases but, the moly grease I'm using now, is thicker and tests well on the sample that it comes with the unit and a section of cast iron that I use. It also have given me a quickest reading.

I haven't used it on my block yet but, in the ports on SBF heads, where it's hard to get a good contact. The white lithium sounds good and I'll test it next.

I am going to try to find a brand and part number so I can repeat the purchase later and will post back. Lots of options here to try until then though

C'mon, Ross. Just suck it up, go to your local pharmacy and ask the counter lady for their biggest tub of KY ;D ;D
