Title: Oil restrictions to the rockers
Post by: Sand hauler on December 19, 2020, 11:29:21 PM
Was wondering if there is any way to restrict the oil to the rockers with out having to pull the heads?

Yes. It doesn't require head removal. Just rocker shafts. Most use a #70 Holley jet in the rocker feed for factory heads.

Keep in mind, the jet trick is for iron, aluminum is smaller OD.  I generally tap alum, but I suppose you could do a press fit if you didn't want to drill

I had to tap my Eddelbrock heads for the restrictors. They come in POP's oil galley kit.  I think it was 10-24 and the orifice in his kit is .090.

The OP didn't mention Edelbrock or aluminum heads. I would presume they were iron in that case.

I think the OP has a couple of builds going/complete, just wanted to clarify.

Yes these are Iron. Getting a little bit of oil in 7&8 cyl. Not much. Figure it is prob from too much oil on top .
