Just wondering if any one make steel High Riser end support stands. Seems logical to make them from steel or molly since there is not a lot of material on the bottom to give extra support. I've seen the aluminum (I think T&D) but looking for steel. Can't be that hard to make.

Blue Thunder used to sell them - but it's been a long time since I've seen any

How did the Blue Thunder ones attach? To the head bolt?
-
Precision oil pumps and Dove (end stands with head bolt) make aluminum.
Don't know any steel ones.

I think most of us are running Precision Oil Pump billet stands and end stands with chromoly rocker shafts and ARP studs. I haven't heard of anyone having valvetrain issues with the combination above. ( Except the Edelbrock Helicoils coming out of the head in my case)

POP doesn't make end stands for the high riser.

I like the Dove 6 point design. I don't think they are making them anymore?

David Dove is still making some parts. I bought the end stands about a year ago. Im sure he still has some for sale.

Thanks! I have a set from about 20 years ago. Still going strong. It is a very affordable alternative to going full on T&D 8 point attachment, at least for many applications.

Ill be testing mine, thats for sure.

Yes if building a new motor the Dove set up is a great alternative, but on an already assembled engine I would not want to take out a head bolt to install the Dove set up. Seems like a simple steel end stand would be the way to go. Not complicated and cheap to make and because of material would be very strong. Hard to believe someone doesn't make them to put on a stock rocker set up. Again STEEL.
-
The Precision Oil Pump set up is not for a High Riser.

Here is the Call>>>
Some one to manufacture a SIMPLE STEEL end support stand to be used with a stock rocker set up for the High Riser factory C4AE- F cylinder head. . NOT involving head bolts.

That wasn't what I indicated, was it? The FE in general was my reference, and if he's running a stock valvetrain there is no need to run steel stands. I am light spring pressure wise compared to many here at about 356 over the nose with the POP aluminum stands and end stands with the heavy duty shafts. with absolutely no issues.
The weak part of the valvetrain turned out to be the helicoils in the Edelbrock heads.

The discussion was about High Riser end support stands. That's all. Introducing low riser stuff made thread hard to follow. No big deal.
So I guess nobody makes them. Hard to believe.

Draw what you want and take it to a machine shop.
Simple.
I did just that 30 years ago for end stand supports for a 390. Still holding up after all these years.

Gentleman Jack.. He's on the forum was introducing NEW aluminum h-riser castings. Because they use a different stand than the standard or MR/TP heads and relatively scarce I would imagine he offers them. I have his number somewhere. I will PM you if I can find it.
I thought POP was offering an aluminum version as well. You might try DSC motorsports. Dennis also may be an avenue for stands.
My apologies for being slightly off topic.
