Title: Timing light

The ferrite fell out of the pickup on my old craftsman timing light. Where might I find a suitable replacement?  Would a small bar magnet work?

I have an old Penske timing light that has a sparkplug wire fused where the clamp used to be.

Maybe I'll try that.  I found the ferrite in the garage, broken in half.
