The 352 in my galaxie started running rough and now has gas in the oil. The 4100 carb was last rebuilt about 5 years ago and the fuel pump is about 4 years old. Any ideas?

If it just started running rough that would point at the carb, maybe the Ethanol Gas ate up the power valve or floats are flooding over or sticking?
When the carb was done did it get NEW floats or just "adjusted"? They are really easy to screw up, about the only thing (other than Ethanol in the boosters) that goes wrong with a good old 4100.

No ethanol. I only run real gas in it.

If its CONSISTENTLY rough, you could try running it with the lid off.
Easy to do but best to have a fire bottle there, though I've never had an issue doing it.
Not good if it has a tendency to backfire or is possessed and mad at you personally, which can happen.
Leave lid on with screws (and air cleaner stud) OUT, and choke rod clip off.
Fire it up.
Come back out & lift the lid off. You can see where the wet float level is and any goofy stuff going on.
Don't gun it or any drama of course.
You can push down each float SLOWLY but be ready, they will spray up!
Then see if they recover and seal.
Hardest thing is the float acting up intermittently. In that case I just try another one.

How much gas in the oil?
If it's a lot, the fuel pump diaphragm could have a hole.
When I was a mechanic, it was the only way that I saw gas in the oil.

It's getting a lot of gas in the oil. I think I'll look at fuel pump first, then go after car adjustments.

2X to a tear in the rubber diaphragm in the fuel pump.

The fuel pump was the primary problem, I never knew they could leak to the inside without showing anything at the weep hole.
