Houston, Webster, Pearland, Galveston, etc area
Gave most of my FE stuff away, went to good homes though
Have all nice parts except block to build a 352 for my 65 F100 while I decide on a bigger mill
Still runnin the original block with a cheap rebuild 25 years ago, had over 300,000 miles on it
Had 2 ridges, first from top rings, second ridge from second rings
All of the top rings were broken in several places, 3 or 4 of the second rings were broken
Had to use a large rat tail file to cut the top ridge's down so the ridge reamer would work
Reason I rebuilt the original mill is a interesting story
I bought 352 short block that came from an automotive school from a guy my Daddy worked with
This was according to my Daddy's friend, a donated mill from Ford
He said they gave it to him as they had problems with oiling or such , his story, not mine
Used to be, main's had inserts with oil holes and 5 without, yall see where this is goin
Pulled the main caps and the inserts were orientated wrong
The block and all looked new, was gonna use it to replace my worn out block
There was an old guy in the neighborhood that came around looking for scrap, that was his living
I always saved a pile for him as did others, one day he showed up and I told him what he could take
The scrap pile was on the side of my garage, the 352 short block was in front of the 3rd garage door
I told him not to take the short block as it was for my truck, he was always jolly and said of course
After he left, I went outside and the short block was gone
The old man had somehow gotten the short block into his station wagon and drove off with it
He never came around again, I would have still helped him..

FE Motors in the Houston TX area have certainly dried up. I would like to find another 390 block and keep an eye on Craigslist all the time. If one pops up, the price is high. also I gues with the virus around, no one wants to meet up to make a deal

I have a 360 connected to a C6 for a divorced transfer case
That engine needs a head gasket but was a strong running engine
If you guys are “close” in geography (I know Texas is HUGE) I can strap both of these down and ship them?
Or if you are ever in the area up here with a trailer or a van I can load them for you
I know I will likely never use them and I want them to have good homes
We can work out pricing should there be an Interest in them

Ricky: I've been back and forth about posting this > But I have a 595 coded block from around 1960 that is a rebuild and already at +030. Never installed but true flattop pistons. It's a mass produced rebuilder type of short block but just block crank and pistons. I can get on a pallet and ship it to you for $200+ shipping from here in Oregon or in early November from Denver For $200 + shipping. I do have a bunch 0f 360 and 390 sized blocks and blocks and internals as well, a lot at std.
4.05 bore. Here in Oregon. To you === Just pay shipping

Hey Richard
Is that 595 a 353 or 390 ??
A standard bore block would be nice as well
I have 2 390 blocks at .040 over, 1 has a ridge, the other has pits in the cylinders
Thinkin I am going to build a mild engine for the 65 to drive and build a stroker for it next year
Almost forgot, did I send you another main bolt with a stud on it ?? .. if I didnt, it is around here somewhere
Ricky.

Ricky: I've got around 25 Blocks. Almost all are 390/360based Many std. bore some at +030 and a few at +060. The 595 block has a +030 bore and crank for a 352. Pistons are true flat tops with no valve reliefs. I've also got a stock /never rebuilt 1958 Edsel 361 (4.05 bore and 352 crank) but many miles that's nasty and dirty. That would be free but shipping added on.
What's your finished bore? Asking for +040 do you have those pistons? My e-mail is down for a while while I sort out ISP e-mail providers so post here or message me here is best.
I'll PM you my cell so we can text message if you'd like.
Oh never got the main cap bolt but not an issue since i've picked up a few more rear sump engines since then. One was a Merc 410 with a 4X4 pan and angled 1976 Oil filer adapter.
