Ugh, looked like a pretty solid car to be cutting up, seems the altered cars should start with the rough cars since they're going to be cutting them up anyway.
-
I agree, I have passed on cars I thought were in too good a shape to cut them up
-
I think the flip side is that pickin's are pretty slim these days. You go with what you can find, if that's your goal.

I dont know i think it was quite rotten ??? even with a Swedish
meassure floor is toast, trunkfloor, trunklid gutter, tailpanel
and so on. But maybe thats a solid 64 today. Did that to a 66 Nova
that was better than that about 25 years ago, moved both the front
and rear axle. But less than on the Comet think it was 4 inch, made
new rearfenders from the bead down with longer and higher wheel
openings to disquise it

A noted full-service Corvette shop here in Downers Grove, IL made a duplicate of a '65 AWB Plymouth that looks like the original Sox & Martin match racer. Injected on gas, late 426 Hemi too! Odd that a 'Vette shop would do so but it looks good and hits all the local car shows too.
Here's a different car for sale: https://dmcorvette.com/inventory/5626/

What would you be saving it for/from? There isn't anybody after us that will give a rats ass about it...so cut away!
I'm also a spoiled Californian. I would have passed on that particular Comet because it has too much rot.
I enjoyed that video very much. Is the next stage ready for viewing? Where can you find it?

Curious as to where this is the one they did on the TV show a few years ago where they used a Mod Motor (real nostalgia there!) I searched for more episodes. Seems to be just those two.
-
Next episode. Tom is right, they used a mod motor. At least it's still Ford powered...

I think a 490 hp mod motor is kind of tame. If it were more radical with more rpm I could get on board with the mod motor in the '64 AFX. I mean a 490 hp 351W would seem kind of lame, too.
A 7500 rpm 390 FE would be cool. Or a screamin' 351C 4 barrel. Something closer to 600 hp. Like you said, at least it is Ford powered.

This is sad considering they just built a very healthy FE from a 390 block I sold them, discussed in another thread. They did hit me up for a 427 block but they are not used to FE prices :o. But I would have been willing to give a little discount if it was for this project and would've helped them build it like they should have.
-
So, what ever did happen with this project?
Was it ever finished? Ever run?

I've got one of those. Stay tuned. I took it around the block for the first time in 4 years a few weeks ago. Working on making an exhaust for it right now. I will hopefully be winding it up soon. Should be around 7500 or so.
