Title: CCing heads
Post by: 390 Cougar Conv on January 21, 2013, 01:51:56 AM
I recently bought a Burette. Thanks to Jay for telling where to get one. The directions tell me to mix alcohol and water 50/50. Witch one do I use, Alcohol. Denatured, Isopropyl or???

I use the colored windshield washer fluid.  Maybe I shouldn't?

I think a lot of fluids, even water, would work if you have a good seal on the valves, but alcohol works well because it won't dissolve the grease that you use to seal the plexiglas plate to the deck of the cylinder head, and it won't rust anything if some of it remains.  I always use straight isopropyl alcohol, but a mix or windshield washer fluid would probably be fine.
