Does anyone know about the aluminum FE water pumps on Ebay by CVF Racing? I have an Edelbroke On my 427 med riser and I had problems right from the start with water leakage from the back plate. Had to change the gasket and seal it as the casting was a little wonkey right out of the box. Looking for a new one for the new Tunnel Port going in my Galaxie.

I have several of their water pumps and very happy with all of them except some of their gaskets seemed thin or cheap but the last few have been very good quality. There are made in the USA and a veteran owned company with lifetime warranty.

What? An edelbrock with a casting problem? I thought it was only Dove that had casting problems! (All the forgoing is slight sarcasm.) With any FE waterpump, it might make sense to check the impeller. To start with, edelbrock used stamped steel impellers and those early ones often had overheating problems for some reason. A cast aluminum impeller and back plate and a good gasket and you should be good to go.

I use Flowkooler for any stock style pumps, but I only see an cast iron unit offered for FE. I have yet to wear out a Flowkooler. CVF has some decent parts. Haven't used any of their stuff, but I've been looking at what the offer.

Looking on CVF website, I don't see them in chrome or polished aluminum ?
I'm pretty sure they used to.

Preface by saying I don't know any better but I have a Tuff Stuff water pump on my 390. Never heard of them before and because I wanted to try saving money on certain parts while still upgrading the price through Summit was the best aluminum pump I could find. Felpro gaskets and ARP bolts and no issues out of the box. Even helped line up my alternator with factory brackets in my truck too.
