Title: Cut down plenum divider
Post by: KMcCullah on January 11, 2013, 08:54:14 PM
I was kicking thru the graphs in the dyno section and found one where Jay built a 492 with a modified Blue Thunder dual plane intake with a removable divider. The HP gain was notable.
Question for Jay: Can you post the associated graph showing the torque curves?
Question for everybody: Has this mod ever been tried with a Performer RPM with a smaller FE on a dyno?

Sorry for the delay, it took me a while to dig out this data (from 2005):

Thank you Jay! Wow, I was expecting to see a compromise in torque but in this case, the opposite. I hope you do some similar dyno tests when you get your intake and adaptor package running.

That was some interesting data, Thanks Jay. I also was wondering about tricks to the RPM. And how far the RPM could be tricked out to.

On my supercharged engine that made 1030 HP, the RPM manifold ports were enlarged to match the CNC ported heads, but no further work was done to it.  The RPM is a really, really good manifold just as it is...

Hopefully my air gap duel quad RPM will give me similar results. Not sure how much to loose if any or just use a spacer.
