Title: Fe power parts
Post by: gregaba on February 21, 2020, 02:31:10 PM
Hi
I have bought all the FE Power parts for the FE [428] and wondered if anyone has done a dyno comparison of the stock engine and the same with the FE parts installed.
Just for an ideal as I am getting ready to build my engine and wanted an ideal of some power expectations. Don't expect much except for the intake adapter.
I mainly bought these to make cam changes and adjustments easier.
Doesn't matter which intake is used but would like to find a single plane 351 C compared to the stock or Edlebrock preformer intake.
Thanks
Greg

Greg, I did a bunch of comparisons with different intake manifolds using the intake adapter on a pretty strong stroker engine a while back; see the thread below.  Towards the end of the pages there is data showing comparisons of all the intakes:

Also, when I first tested the intake adapter on a 425 HP 428CJ, the intake adapter plus the 351C Performer RPM gave nearly identical performance to the standard FE Performer RPM.  If you are looking for a single plane intake, the Edelbrock Torker is a really good choice; that's actually what I run on my regular street car.  It loses a little torque to a dual plane, but makes more power from 4500 RPM up.

Hope that helps - Jay

Thanks Jay for the answer.
I have bought a Trick Flow 351C intake as the Torker wasn't available when I ordered.
I was just curious if there was any HP improvement compared to stock.
Really brought the parts for quick cam changes and adjustments.
Thanks again.
Greg

Spent a few hours reading your link and found it very interesting. I was really interested in the MS3 instructions.
I was going to order a Ms3 but after my 2 year experience with the FAST system on my friends mustang I was hesitant to order one.
Now I will reconsider it for the 63.
