Title: Are there longer ARP rocker shaft studs available?
Post by: fairlaniac on February 20, 2020, 05:39:28 PM
My .180 of rocker stand shimming now has the top of the stud below the top of the nut. .250 longer stud would be great? What are others doing here with similar shimming?

Thanks,

I had that same concern. Blair got me some 1/4" longer studs from ARP. One thing to note, the longer stud was a full shank, not necked down for oiling. I trimmed mine on a lathe for peace of mind. I also measured and necked the stud down to about 2/3 of the way through the center of the rocker shaft, so the stud would also help locate in the shaft and stand a little better.

Got mine from Blair as well.  He mentioned there should still be enough clearance between the stud and the rocker stand for enough oil to pass, but you'll want to verify of course.

Doug, those studs are readily available through ARP.   You can get them through us, as has been mentioned, or Summit, Jegs, etc.
