Title: carter 4441s 5c1a date code?

New guy, Just wondering if you guys can help me out, I have had this pump for about 35 years. Carter x pump 4441s date code 5c1a. Am I correct thinking this was March 1 1965 a shift? If so what was the application ? Thank you. Bob.

Probably 428CJ, 5th of March, 1971, first shift.

C for 3rd month - March
1 for 1971.
