Title: '60 Starliner Suspension/Frame Detailing
Post by: mbrunson427 on February 03, 2020, 11:53:53 AM
Wondering if anybody has a good reference for suspension and frame component detailing? Need to know the proper colors everything needs to be. If you've ever seen a forum or some sort of chronicle of somebody doing a real accurate and thorough job on a '60, can you steer me there?

We found an old magazine article showcasing a '63 R-code concourse detail job. At this point, that's our reference.

Try Bud Potter @ budsclassiccars.com.  He specializes in '63-'64 parts but has some info on the different chassis blacks used, i.e. amount of flatness etc.  Although I've been told that details can vary by assy plant, too.  He may also have a reference for specific 1960 info.

Love the car, nice project!

Thanks Bruce, I called and talked with him over my lunch today. He basically named off the 2-3 guys that he thinks may have good knowledge of 60's. Not a very big fraternity.
