Title: 1960 Starliner need
Post by: allrightmike on February 03, 2020, 10:31:18 AM
Looking for a good trunk lock cover. Gold anodized cover that rotates out of the way for key insertion. The one that I have is not in good condition.
   Thanks, Mike.

This is second hardest to the air cleaner lid. You might be better off having yours re-plated.

At Carlisle last year we stumbled upon an NOS one in somebody's NOS parts booth......$1000 for the "S" lock cover and the "tarliner" script that goes behind it.

Well Mike, that just figures. My intention was to have the whole thing gold plated but the cover is just a little to rough for that program. Maybe just leave well enough alone.
Mike.
Oh, I am also looking for Hens teeth ;D

Let me search through our leftover parts bin and see if we have an old one and if it is in usable condition. I don't remember seeing one

A tip if you cant find one. My sister is a.... I don't know the proper tittle in English
but she makes jewelry, guess that makes her a Jeweler. She have cast things like that
in Silver and goldplated when needed. I know she made some Thunderbird emblens
for example. So find a local jeweler and try to get them to make one.
Or i can ask i she have time to do it. She probably need your old one as a template to make a
mold but shipping to Sweden cant be that expensive. The cost of making it i dont know
but i think way under 1000 dollars. If you are a few guys that need one price would probably
drop some. So if you are interested i can ask her. Got any photo of one?
