Title: FS: NIB custom Comp Cams solid flat tappet cam.....
Post by: blykins on January 30, 2020, 04:03:02 PM
Just bit the bullet and ordered a roller cam for Project Junky Junk.   Anyone interested in the solid flat tappet that I had originally bought?  I'll take $150 for it.

Lol, that is a mean cam for a 352.
If I hadn't JUST reinstalled the intake on my car, I might have tried it just cuz.

So, I guess, thanks for offering this up now and not a month ago :P

Pretty big touch.  LOL

You're at 57° overlap right now, you'd go to 76°.   Would be night and day difference in sound.  Performance would depend on your build.

i have a 390 stroker 444 with a hyd roller 236@.050 from Barry.
How would this cam go with my combo, heads inlet 370 at .700.  dove tunnel wedge intake with 2x600 vac from Drew.
Galaxie, C4 3.89.
Would iy rev a bit more or is the 4.250 stroke a bit of a truck?
Thanks

Long strokes not revving is sorta one of those internet wives' tales.   A 4.250" stroke will be zippy with the right combination and the compression ratio has a lot to do with that.

This cam would peak considerably higher, which would let you take advantage of the cylinder heads and intake.  The BBM TW intake is very large and you're probably at a detriment in throttle response and power in the low/mid ranges.   Now granted, you'll still be lighter on the bottom end because of the heads/intake, but the cam would let you gain some in the top end and the 3.89 gears would help you get that big car moving on the bottom.

You'd be in for a considerable expense though.....the cam isn't expensive, but you'd need lifters, a distributor gear, pushrods, and possibly a valve spring change.
